Rumor – Next Silent Hill game is an FPS
Rumor has it that Silent Hill developer Vatra Games is turning the latest edition to the franchise into an FPS.
According to GameRep (via D’toid), the studio’s currently working on an FPS slated for Q1 2011, and it’s the only project listed by the developer that is a major release for consoles.
Vatra is also hard at work on Rush’N Attack: Ex-Patriot for Konami, but that game is set for release during Q2 this year for XBLA and PSN only.
Konami confirmed a new Silent Hill earlier this month for PS3 and Xbox 360, yet if you click on the link to GameRep above, the mysterious FPS Vatra is working on has PC listed as well.
So, take the rumor for what it is, and just wait with baited breath for E3 which Konmai says will contain more details on the SH game.

Hmm, people have a tendency to use “FPS” as a catch-all term for first-person games, so it’s rather silly to write the game off before it’s been shown. Not to say it won’t contain any shooting, but I’d assume it’ll be closer to the first Condemned than an actual shooter.

I will just wait for E3. The Room did First Person in the room and it did add a certain flare but FPS? Maybe it will be On rail shooter for the Motion controls.

Yeah first person could be pretty awesome actually like condemned but not quite as much brawling, would make silent hill a lot more immersive

I think the series was killed before, exactly after 4th part, so something new maybe well change it to make more profit to the
company after the fail of [ shatter memories & homecoming ].
if it`s like bioshock on scary Atmosphere [ sometimes ] then
day one for me, even I not a fan of FPS at all.
