Ghost Recon: Future Soldier “Predator” cloaks explained

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier will feature invisibility cloaks for players that, according to the latest issue of OPM, turn characters into “transparent, blurry shapes”.

Studio producer Adrian Lacey explained: “People always say, ‘It doesn’t exist’. It’s existed for about five years; we were looking at it for previous Recons.

“Imagine a suit covered in cameras. It films what’s around you and projects it back on your suit. You don’t disappear. You’re not invisible. It disturbs your perception, breaks up your silhouette.”

The author of the piece in the Brit mag’s latest issue, however, claimed that the effect is “exactly like turning invisible”.

Other kit outed for the game in the eight-page exclusive preview include soldier exoskeletons and shoulder-based rocket launchers, as detailed earlier this month.

The game’s out later this year for PS3, 360, DS, PSP and Wii.

I really don’t think DICE are working on this one, man. They’re tied to EA, not Ubi.

Yeah right, must be Ubisoft’s secret military branch that developed it. In reality if such thing is ever invented it’ll work by bending light waves around the object.
