Rebellion working on PS3 issues with AvP demo

Saturday, 6th February 2010 22:20 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

Rebellion has responded to issues relating to the match-making in the PS3 demo of Alien vs Predator.

“Since our earlier update regarding successful patching of the PC demo of AvP, we’ve been working with Sony and SEGA on investigating reports of a similar issue from some PS3 owners,” a SEGA spokesperson told VG247.

“Tests so far have shown a significant improvement, but we’re not yet finished with the fixes. The team will be working over the weekend to make it even better for players.”

They even sent over a link to a tutorial video, showing how to survive the AVP multiplayer experience.

Released on Thursday, the demo issues were fixed on PC, and did not occur with the 360 version.

Hopefully, all remaining issues will be ironed out for PS3 user.

Game’s out February 19.

    Why? Just like a beta.

because it isnt a beta precisely . And you usually dont see people patching a demo …

That is the best and worst new I’ve heard so far, for AvP.
Good, because we might actually see something past the “Searching for Games”, “1 Player Found. Waiting for more players” page.
Bad, because when you have to patch a demo, imagine how much work the final product still needs.

And it’s out on the 16th.
    NOT cool, Rebellion. Not cool.

It’s not that strange. You test something internally and it works fine, you release it to the larger world and it snaps faster than BDH in a comment thread vaguely related to PC gaming.

Too little too late; i’m close to cancelling my preorder off the crap with this demo and the bad review from GI. Still gonna see other reviews first tho.

PLus altho this maybe my fault more than the games I really can not get used to this bloody RPS style melee system!! >:(

EDIT: scrap that I HAVE now cancelled my pre order

Don’t Ever Go By Reviews (It’s Just Some Assholes Opinion Anyways) If I Went By Reviews I’d Have Missed Many Great Games, Always Try The Game Yourself Even If You Have To Rent It First.

That’s The WHOLE POINT Of This Demo, So We Won’t Have To Deal With This BS In The Full Game, They’re Testing The Servers & Getting Them Ready…

That’s Because Deathmatch Blows.. Also You Got Your Ass Handed To You In The Demo, No?.. But I Bet The People You Were Playing With Had Played The Demo Several Times, So I’m Sure They Had A Huge Advantage, But Again Deathmatch Sucks Balls.

I’m Still Pumped For The Full Game As I Never Plan On Playing Those Shitty Multiplayer Modes Because They Fucked Everything Up Like The Aliens Can Go Invisible Like The Predator Does, Humans Can See The Aliens Through Walls When The Alien Is Invisible.. I Mean It’s Fucking Retarded, It’s Like They’ve NEVER Seen An Aliens/Predator Movie, I’ll Be Playing Survival, Infestation & The Hunted Game Modes Aside From The Story Modes Of Course, Other Then That Fuck The Other Multiplayer Modes Because They Fucked AvP Up Badly With All The Bullshit.

Err, the guy that wrote the review slags off the motion tracker & the fact the Alien can walk on walls.

Think I’ll wait for a few more opinions before ruling this one out. Kinda likin the demo now the combat has clicked some more (guess I’m lucky havin a 360 mind)
