Associated Press lists Top 10 games of the year

Well deserved for Uncharted 2 imo. Astounding game.

Modern Campfare 2 and it’s amazing Model 1887 shotguns definitely need NOT be on the list.

I haven’t played it, but isn’t Halo: ODST supposed to be really good?

off course that we always disagree with 1 or other game on those lists… but this one is the best I saw so far

ODST is a very good game Mike.
I will be hitting it again soon on the highest level to get a few more cheevies.

I hope they sorted out some issues the first uc had.
I am on the tenth mission and am still not comfortable with the shooting and cover.
Also sometimes the camera view can be a hassle.
Grenade explosions and when you generally blow things up are not very realistic either and could be improved imo.
A decent game so far but certainly nothing earth shattering.

I know when Drakes fortune came out Sony owners where praising it to hell and high water at the time.
I thought it would be better than it is.
The cover system has nothing on Gears of war cover system.

ODST is fun while it lasts, but every game on that is better.

Good list. No MW2 adds alot of credibility to it as well.

I’m only asking as I want ODST for Christmas and don’t rate some of the games on that list (including the mentions). It’s not that bad, is it?

ODST is an enjoyable game and I liked it a lot.

It wouldn’t be anywhere near any top 10 of the year I would come up with though.

I did the EG top 5 and I really struggled. Like imo, 90% all of games released haven’t been up to much. In fact, I could only really think of my favourite two.

I was hoping ODST might rectify that.

You will enjoy it Mike if you like Halo.
The music is top notch as well and really lends to the atmosphere.

Marty O’Donnell is the best in the business.

i’d say apart from Demons Souls and maybe Shadow Complex ODST is better then the other honorable mentions.

can’t believe Street Fighter IV isn’t on the list.

I didn’t enjoy ODST that much. Felt… I don’t know. Wrong?

By the way, where is New Super Mario Bros. Wii?

I can, remember what was being said about taste this morning?

Though to be fair, i’d probably take a fighting game over a racing game anyday.
Otherwise though: Every other genre (apart from racing and sports) > Fighting games.
if it was a top fighting list STIV would be on top but not an all round list like this.

well maybe next year they’ll get top honors with SSFIV

Now this list is MUCH better than that Time crap.

That list is a mess. Anything called “the best of..” is of course going to have problems. But where the heck is New Super Mario Bros? That game is amazing fun.

For my money they can remove:
ACII
Forza3
GTAcw
And for DJ Hero and Rock Band unplugged? In a word, no. The rest of the games are decent but if that is the best this year has to offer…we had a bad year. But of course there are much better games out there. Fat Princess, Trine, TNSMBWii, Swords and Soliders, Tourchlight, and yes ODST. Actualy a awesome collection of games out there. Too bad the AP seems to have such tunnel vision in finding them. Props to them for not placing CoD MW2 on the list tho.

GTA CW wasn’t all that, no.

This list is more like it (after seeing Times joke of a list), but I’d say MW2 DEFINITLEY deserves to be on top 10 games of the year. Definitley.

Oh and personally, as good as both games are, B:AA blows AC2 away by a long shot (IMO ofcourse).

Much as I enjoyed Ratchet and Clank, it has no place in a top ten of the year. Same goes for inFamous. I’ve played better PS3 exclusives than those two.

Only played the ACIT demo and thought it lousy. Insomniac is going down the pan.

I thought it was ok… problem is, it’s basically just Ratchet & Clank, again. The new stuff felt tacked on, and some of it doesn’t work at all.

Strangely it felt like they’d downgraded the graphics too, but I guess that could be because I’ve played a lot of games recently which look far sharper.

That’s exactly what I thought too.

Maybe I’ll load up the old one at some point and give it a comparison.

ODST is good, but it won’t last you very long if you just play it in single player.

This list fails.

Much better list them Time’s.

If I got my mum to do a list it’d be better than Time’s.
