Famitsu’s reporting that Super Mario Bros. Wii has sold 936,734 units in its first week, beating Super Smash Bros. Brawl, which sold 816,000 titles in the same time-frame.

According to Sinobi, the game managed 422,000 units in its first day.

Hot banana. Thanks, Andriasang and Kotaku.

Nintendo are a shadow of the game developers that they used to be.

Been playing this, and the difficulty makes some of the levels seem more like a chore than fun.

And that’s coming from someone who’s played almost every mario platformer since the first SMB.

Really? We all thought the game was a tad easy. Or is that what you meant? Its lacking in challange and that lessens the appeal for you?

I remember when we used to revere Japanese gamers as informed and intelligent in their buying prowess. What the fuck happened to them?

To be honest G1GA, its my wife. She is the one that can rip thro the platformers. You should see her in Trine. I mean wow. She said it is Marios lack of duel analog thumb sticks that must be giving you trouble ;)
