Look at this, Radiohead.
Originally retailing for £225, HMV has cut the price of the PSPgo to £148.99 on its website.
This is only for the black SKU though: the white PSPgo is £199.99, which is £25 cheaper then RRP. But if you want one, black is the way to go.
Thanks, Detale.

Just ordered one. Look past the unfortunate stigma that seems to be associated with the Go and you’ll see this is a very nice bit of kit for 150 notes. Don’t forget SCEE are still giving away 3 free first party games to upgraders as well.

And charging you twice the price of a UMD copy for “donkeys old” downloadable games, too. Barg.

It is a nice looking bit of kit, but they really need to work on the whole pricing structure for the games before I’d even consider one.

The price of the games is putting me off getting one too. My PS3 has already stripped me off my all my cash..

The Go is a sexy piece of hardware, no question, but until the game price at least mirrors UMD and the digital catalogue expands to include all the psp games I acrually want then it’s no deal even sub £100 if it’s going to work out cheaper to go for umd based units.

Really the dumbest part of the PSP thing:
The 3000 can play UMD Movies and UMD Games.
And it can still download the digital games.
I just don’t see the bonus for spending that much on a PSPGo. Does the 3000 have a bigger screen too?

The 3000 does have a bigger screen but Sony fucked up there, the psp 3000 screen has interlacing issues previous versions didn’t, which is why I’m hoping for a psp 4000 with a new screen spec.

Use cheap PSN credit and most games work out to less than the price of the UMD version (at least at launch), and there are fairly regular discounts on the PSN store as well. The Sony published stuff in particular is decently priced, it’s some of the other publishers that are currently trying to take the piss, but I think things will settle down eventually. There are occasionally bargains to be had as well, with stuff like Disgaea for £12 (UMD copies of which are next to impossible to find new nowadays) and Everybody’s Golf 2 was £9.99 a few weeks back. The only downside IMO to buying stuff off PSN is the lack of resale options, but I think I can live with that.

aww tits, I would get one at that price, if I had not just spent a shead load on Rcokband.

Why do Radiohead need to look at it?

Once you play LBP on the go then you’ll realise that is a good bit of kit. My 1.5 hour journey on the ferry back from France at the weekend was charming with sackboy in tow
