First Tony Hawk: RIDE reviews are… mixed

tonyhawk

The first reviews of Tony Hawk: Ride have started to trickle in, and sprained ankles and bruised egos seem to be the name of the game here. Well, mostly. So, is this the large plastic, skateboard-shaped nail in the Tony Hawk franchise’s coffin? Let’s take a look.

G4 and Planet Xbox 360 both conducted their reviews at a day-long event last weekend. According to G4, though, they had plenty of time to finish the game.

If you happen to come across any more reviews of Tony Hawk’s latest effort, drop us a line and we’ll add them to the list.

Holy shit… 1/5 vs 9/10! Has a game ever had that sort of spread before now?

I wonder when the owner of Planet Xbox got his free copy of RIDE.

I really don’t know what to make of it, honestly. Maybe skateboarding’s the national sport of Planet Xbox 360, because publications from Earth certainly don’t seem to think much of the game.

@Michael’s Very Long Pseudonym:

Planet Xbox 360 reviewed the game at an event, making this whole thing even weirder.

@Nathan Grayson.

Yeah, not surprising. No credible journalist would realistically give this game that kind of course if they were providing an impartial decision.

Whomever wrote that review is a stain on the journalistic industry.

Looked pretty awful at GamesCom. Skate 3 will kill this so-bad.

“I and I smell bribz.”

It does sound like a PR-message:

“Tony Hawk: RIDE is a great gift for kids this holiday shopping season, it also works for the hardcore teenage gamer or casual fifty year old who wants to relive his heydays at the skate park.”

In all honesty I think they got bribed. And Anders you could be right it could be a straight off a press release. I write for a gaming site Xcastonline.com and we have tracked for over a month them Plagerizing other sites. Once we called it out they changed the articles but not before we screen capped them.

Original article by Joystiq: http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/ll247/kcrockett84/Joystiqplagerized1.jpg

Planet Xbox 360 plagerized version of Joystiq article: http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/ll247/kcrockett84/Joystiqplagerized1.jpg

And the proof they even hotlinked images: http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/ll247/kcrockett84/hotlinkingtoo.png

Nice to see our site isn’t the only one finding out how illegitimate their site really is.
