Guitar Hero: Van Halen freebie running late for PS3

Those who preordered Guitar Hero 5 for PS3 have yet to receive their free Guitar Hero: Van Halen game.
Reason why, is there was a “printing error” on the packaging.
Here’s the apology email folks are getting, courtesy of Joystiq:
“Unfortunately, we made a printing error on the package of Guitar Hero Van Halen. Fortunately, we caught and remedied the error prior to sending your disc. Our effort to ensure a completely positive customer experience has resulted in a slight delay in shipping your copy of the game.”
Activision has promised to begin mailing the game out this week.
PS3 was the only system effected, as copies for other consoles were already shipped out.

“printing error” sounds like pr speak along the lines of “wardrobe malfunction” to me.
I reckon a disgruntled employee had written “Eddie Van Halen is a big cock” in red crayon on the master they sent to the printers

A game I worked on about 15 years ago had something similar…
One of the artists wrong with off black ink on black paper “CHRIS JONES IS A C**T” but in full. So if you did a fill in the bg with a different colour you’d see it.
We found it, he got the sack.
