Kojima wouldn’t mind if a “foreign developer” remade the original Metal Gear
Not the original Metal Gear Solid, mind you. That sort of already happened. No – Kojima’s all for a remake of Metal Gear’s humble, comparatively cutscene-free beginnings. One teensy problem, though: Kojima’s booked solid for – oh – the rest of his life at the moment.
“It doesn’t have to be me who makes it,” Kojima suggested in an interview with Kotaku. “I made it a long time ago. It could be somebody young that maybe has more abilities than I do….It would even be good if a foreign production team even did it.”
So, who would you like to see give 8-bit Snake a modern makeover? We’re thinking Rocksteady. After Arkham Asylum, just imagine what the developer could do with Metal Gear’s blend of stealth and action.

Problem is by todays standards the 2 original Metal Gear games are pretty ridiculous, it would need a MASSIVE overhaul including the story.

Yes, Rockstar, someone socially aware, becuase Metal Gear Solid completely isn’t, and to handle the game well, it would be great to see them handle it.

Wouldn’t a western made MGS just end up Being another Splinter Cell? Unless they went 2D, but then you would end up with something akin to Shadow Complex(awesome game btw). But i don’t know, seems a mute point.

Hell, even if they simply re-envisioned original MG using MGS4 engine, that would be cool enough for me. No need to over complicate it.
