360 system update today in prep for Twitter and Facebook [Update]

twitter360

Nelson just confirmed that Xbox 360′s firmware will be upgraded today in preparation for the inclusion of Facebook, Twitter and Last.fm functionality.

“Sometime over the next few hours when you sign in to Xbox LIVE you’ll receive a prompt to accept this mandatory update,” said the exec.

“If you are signed into LIVE already, you may be signed out and asked to accept the update and you’ll be back online in a few moments.”

No features are included in the update. Thanks, TheDutchSlayer.

Update: There are reports of not being able to connect to Live after updating. Super Nelson’s fixing that shit, yo. Thanks evilashchris, Blerk.

Update 2: Sorted.

Don’t worry, The Major is on the case! He’s like Bob the Builder. Only older. And more plasticiney.

I see you have sky in your pic.
Is that in the update as well?
If so is Ireland included?

Yeah I’d be interested to know if it’s available in Ireland too
