GamesCom Microsoft press conference liveblog

Here we go again. Hot on the heels of Sony’s PS3 Slim announcement at GamesCom yesterday comes Microsoft with a 10.00am CET press conference.

Mr Molyneux’s involved. He said last night he’s going to show a new game. What on earth could it be?

That’s 9.00am UK time and dead o’clock if you’re in the US. Don’t miss it. Hit the link for updates.

I’m not actually sure what this is. I can’t even work out if it’s the same type of game as Fable 2.

I reckon for it to be out with a 2 year dev cycle, it has to be essentially DLC. In thew form of a whole new game, so saaying ‘content’ just means, it’s the same engine etc etc. I don’t mean to belittle it by that.

Microsoft have been really great with that recently. Elongating games. Good on them.

If the preview is to be believed, they started it mid way through Fable 2 development… so it’s possibly not that simple.

are there any other conferences today?

I’m kind of hoping there might be a Microsoft one. :-D

Konami was on earlier, but hardly anybody covered it. I’ve no idea about the rest of the day.

    k. thanks for replying though.

  7. Lutz said:

Pud: The tough part has been done already for Fable 3. They’ll re-use the engine from Fable 2, and probably half the assets too.

  8. Heads up.

Molyneux’s doing his keynote at GDC Europe right now. More info should be coming out from that, so I am gonna hunt down any livetexts (if any).

As for anything else… forget it. This was it.

  9. Syrok said:

Didn’t he do that a few hours ago already. :)

  10. Actually, I just realised he did it only an hour ago. :(

Will go looking anyways for info.
