Wii Sports Resort tops UK chart at debut

Wii Sports Resort has gone straight in at the top of the UK chart, knocking Potter down into second.

Tiger Woods and Wii Fit held their positions at three and four respectively.

Last week’s chart here. Data below for the week ending July 25.

    Good observation. COD4 is still raking it in – it’s crazy just how game sales have changed in the last few years. Has it been common in the past for certain games to endlessly hang around the top 5/10 in such a way?

    Wii Resorts was DAY ONE. Best game i’ve played in a while. Simple, responsive design brilliance. Thank you Nintendo.

    The only games that I can think of are FIFA or PES, but they only usually hang around for maybe 6 or 7 months.

    Interesting thought. It will have nightscopes and kneepads.
    So all the good bits from MW2 will be there.

    Generic gameplay won’t however.

    Ah well…

    Generic gameplay is the second prerequisite for any GOTY, so it looks like scribbly noughts will miss out again.
