Schappert: We’ve got the best games and all the franchises on Xbox 360
Corporate vice president of Xbox Live, John Schappert has told the BBC that now the Metal Gear franchise is heading to Xbox 360, the company now has “all the franchises” and “the best games.”
“The Metal Gear Solid franchise was the last franchise that we were really truly looking to get on board,” he said
“We’ve got the best games and we’ve got all the franchises that might have started their lives on other consoles coming to the 360.”
Piers Harding-Rolls, a senior analyst with Screen Digest, said the reason for the lack of exclusives is because of an open market.
“When the PlayStation 2 was the dominant platform, it was less of an issue for developers to tie up an exclusive deal,” offered Piers.
“Today developers want to maximise their sales and that means making a game to go out on all platforms.
“There is no denying that Microsoft has done well in improving its relationship with third party developers and the Metal Gear Solid announcement is another notch on the old bedpost.”

I for one totally expect humility and modesty from large companies at E3.

ms shut the fuck up,your conference was great but that doesn’t give you the right to talk complete bullshit.
I think swearing was acceptional in this case.

In the case of Sony games its Sony that own all the IP’s they publish (aaprt from GhostBusters :p), if MS were to buy Insomniac they wouldnt be allowed to make a R&C or Resistance.

I cant quite remember the story jnms, i think at one point MS said that they were in talks with Blizzard about the next Xbox, but then Blizzard bitch slaped them and said it was all BS.

Correction. You have an action game concerning RAIDEN…Lightning bolt action. Only reason Metal Gear Solid is tagged onto it is because it concerns that general plotline and one of this major characters, however it isn’t Tactical Espionage Action as the other successful Metal Gear games are, like Peace Walker.
Second Rising is also coming out on Ps3, sooooo this will most likely be the ONLY game that you will get microsoft… you had your chance with MGS2 Substance on the xbox which sold horribly, and on ps2 it sold wonderfully.
Another example of the whole franchise deal is Square Enix you’re so excited about a game that looks o great, that is impossible fo ryou to fit on 1 disc cuz its only like 10gbs for you. boo hoo, again only game you’ll get. FFXIV ps3 exclusive. Only a one time hitter for Microsoft. they’ll need a new console next year, to keep up and have to regain all developer contracts.
good luck getting blu-ray guys. I’d stick with PC, great market there.
