Rumour: First Trico video leaked [Update]

Can we really say this is a rumour? I mean if you watch the video it looks pretty close to what you’d expect and I know the graphics are weak, but things often go through multiple builds. I’d say this is a good leaked vid.

I’ll be able to confirm whether or not it’s real this morning, but I’m 99.9999999999999999% sure it is.

Looks pretty legit to me, i didnt know ‘TRICO’ was actually the projects official name though i thought it was ‘fan named’…

It’s what the game will roughly look like, but this was taken a year ago.

Of course ICO was ICO, but the codename for Shadow of the Colossus was NICO, so obviously this title isnt gonna stay long.

Probably the equal to the ” Audtion ” vid from Heavy Rain. I think we can expect something different, yet somewhere near the same…

playstationlifestyle guy Sev leaked it and he mentions that its old i think. Or people saying that this is what was shown in private a year ago at E3

And one of the mods confirmed it as geniune. Would still rather hear from SCEE on it though.

No way this is a fake.. if it is then its the best fake ever and Team Ico need to hire this person.

So reading on whats going on, since last year that image of the chain was released, people are saying that its from this video. Thats why its believed to be at least a year old.

Could be fake. That music is directly from a Coen brothers movie called Miller’s Crossing – set about Irish Gangsters in the US near the prohibition era. It’s also a 20th Century Fox film, not a Sony one. Superb film but *very* much throws the footage into doubt.

Plus, I dunno. Seems way too in keeping with Ico and SoTC. The boy character, stoney temples, a goliath you can climb on. Even the kid looks too much like the central character from Ico. I’d be expecting something for more leftfield than that.

But yeah, that music presents a huge question mark over it all.

Shatner – It’s placeholder music from what’s been said.

You’d be a fool to bet it’s fake at this point.

Shat – this is one time that i am going to strongly disagree with you. Not about the music, but the other stuff. Last two games were related, no reason to think that this one wont be.

Maybe the second one that they are doing will be different.

So long as the quality of Miller’s Crossing isn’t in dispute then I’m fine with that. Damn, I’m itching to watch the movie again now.

Still, we’ll find out when we find out. A major part of both those games was the sense of discovery and wonder. I look forward to Team Ico’s next project but wouldn’t want to find out too much too soon for fear of compromising the first hand experience.

If it’s a fake, it’s a nice fake. Could very easily be an animator / artist’s showreel that they present in job applications. Just like last week’s “BG&E2″ ‘leak’ could be.

Who wants to take bets, that they kill the critter off in the end?

I don’t think there was anything properly confirmed beyond fanboy speculation about the last two games being linked.

There were deliberate things put in to fuel excitable talk but that’s as far as it got. I believe that if SotC detected an Ico save on your Memory Card then Agro would have a little white splash on his forehead mimmicing the “I” of the Ico logo. And, yes, I know about the secret temple/garden in the game.

With those kind of games the less concrete information is given the better, they trade far better off fan talk and speculation of narrative than they would if the developers talked about every single little detail.

Its best to maintain a distinction between urban myth and truth.

It could easily be fake. Stranger things have happened. I’ll know for certain soon enough, hopefully.

Nah Shatner, Ueda confirmed SotC was a prequel to ICO based in the same universe and that Wanda was the very first horned boy.

This footage is 2 or 3 years old. The rumorus first came about just over a year and a half ago.

Plus, I would not be shocked to find out Project ‘TRICO’ is PlaystationLifestyles own creative input. Stranger things have happened.

First Thief 4 – sorry THIAF – and now this. Best lead up to E3 in years.

Looks incredible, of course. I don’t like the choice of music, and for that reason I’m slightly disappointed with the overall mood of it, but either way I don’t think there’s any doubt it’s worth getting very excited about.

From what I’ve heard, the vid originally had no music at all. PSLifestyle are supposedly the ones who put that track on it.

Looks great, except for the silly dog/cat head on the giant animal…

However old this is it’s the 1st time I’ve seen it and it’s very interesting.

Goth, if Trico is the “BBC game” then you’ve got to be joking that is the footage Waters saw. It’s low quality graphically whereas he said he was blown away by what he was shown and it is far better than anything we’ve so far seen.

That BBC thing will never end. lol
