Game Boy is 20 this month

It’s true. The original Game Boy launched on April 21, 1989, meaning you – yes, you – are officially old.

The 8-bit Game Boy family dominated portable gaming from launch until its 32-bit successor, GBA, came along in 2001.

The system was discontinued in 2003, giving it a 14-year lifespan. It sold 60 million units.

I’ve still got mine. Which I bought in 1989. In total, I bought a massive… three games for it. And one of them was shit.

And, not to get too theological, with no scientific proof of the central geezer of Christmas ever existing it’s hard to claim he ever died.

I fucking *hated* that PoS hardware. GAME GEAR RULES FOREVER!

That said, i do really love my GameBoy Micro.
