PSP Persona not a port, but not a remake either

We’re pretty sure it’s still a game, though – and by the looks of things, a damn good one. Siliconera opened up their Nihongonomicon and gave us the scoop.
According to a translated listing from Japanese retailer Rakuten, Persona’s PSP edition will include new animated movies, a soundtrack rearranged by Persona 3’s composer, and new dungeons.
The game’s difficulty, on the other hand, is feeling a wee bit less fierce after getting hit with the shrink ray, and will further be utterly emasculated by extra save points and a quick save option.
Still sounds rad, though. More through the link.

Probably a good move – the early Persona games were viciously difficult. And PSPs are very expensive things to be throwing around.

So… Sort of like what happened with FFI on the PS1? Never got round to playing this originally, and after playing 3 and having #4 pre-ordered I’m looking forward to seeing how this was

I remember when the PSP was first announced my first thought was “ZOMG, PS2 + portamability = teh JRPGS on teh go!1″ Three years later, and the reality still isn’t quite there.
