First big Killzone 2 reviews go live tomorrow
Eurogamer’s confirmed its Killzone 2 review will go live tomorrow at 5pm GMT. Expect others in addition.
You may also want to dig a bunker. If any game is likely to exemplify the term “fanboy,” this is it. Those prone to schadenfreude will be hoping for a magic “8″, no doubt.
Don’t forget to fill the bunker with popcorn.

The stuff they showed at the Eurogamer Expo was awesome. I’m crossing everything, tbh. I want it to be brilliant.

I can’t see how it can’t be, tbh. That Expo gameplay was Alpha and it was wicked then.

Looks about as generic as they come, only shiny. :-/

It seems very linear, but that is not always a bad thing. As long as the story is decent, the action is well paced and the shooting is satisfying I’ll give it a try.
Just don’t set your expectations too high, not everything is AAA, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be fun.

Well, nothing was more linear than Gears 2, and that was a straight 10 for me. I reckon this sort of game, in single-player at least, is all about the ride.

I would say something smarmy about Sony fanbois, but lets be honest, its all been said before and doesn’t merit repeating.
That not said, I hope it will be good enough to keep them happy and not rampaging across the web.

I was about to say precisely the same thing about XBox fanbois DarkElfa! Blimey!

I still can’t believe people think there’s a difference between fanboys on one side or another. They’re all basically the same… the only difference is how defensive they feel at any particular point.

There’s going to be a lot of defending tomorrow, no doubt.

Yes, but it wont take them long to move on to whatever target comes next (for both offence and defence).

Yeah, but this is the last PS3-saviour game to come out till FF or GT, so the battle will be epic!

Here’s my opinion: it’s really, really good. Not incredible, but very polished and atmospheric and seriously good-looking.
There’ll be an 8 from someone. Though I don’t think it’ll be from EG.
(And I thought EG had a timed exclusive for its review?)

“Yeah, but this is the last PS3-saviour game to come out till FF or GT, so the battle will be epic!”
It’s comments like that which cause fanboi arguments.

I skimmed a small portion of the Official PlayStation Magazine review this morning while I was in WH Smiths.
It said:
“You don’t play this game, you survive it.”
LOL!

So I was reading VG24/7 today and I saw something Giga said, I then thought it would be a bit of japery to take what he’d said somewhere and post it out of context and laugh at it.
lol!!! LOLOLOLOLOooooooooooooooo

I predict a Metacritic average of 95, with Eurogamer giving it 6/10 in a review which includes a complaint about the weight of paper used for the Blu-ray case booklet.

I think the weight complaints are completely justified. It’s a very different game.
Halo CE was not scored perfectly, it was new and different.
And hopefully future iterations of Killzone will keep the same kinetics (unlike Resistance).
It just needs to grow into it’s metaphorical boots. Last time it tried it’s boots on they were way too big, it tripped and grazed it’s face off.

Ooh, it’s another gritty war-themed FPS – we haven’t nearly enough of them this gen!!
I really hope God of War 3 is confirmed for this Xmas, though I can’t see how it couldn’t be.

I have a feeling Sony fanboys are gonna be rampaging the internets after GameDaily awards KZ2 10/10.
Not to say I don’t think the game looks to be really awesome, even if it’s visuals are overhyped to fuck.

I think Gillen summed up the fanboi wars best with
“you’re going to have to look away from the console wars – which is, as always, just people in Eastern Europe in 1939 debating about whether it’s best if they’re going to be ruled by Nazi Germany or Soviet Russia”

Actually, I’ve been interested in this game since the infamous E3 2005 trailer/”target render”/total utter lie. Plus, I’m a massive FPS fan anyway, and I’ve always said that if the game is good, that I’d end up buying a PS3 just to play it.
Besides, I only skimmed it because I consider it bad manners to stand in a newsagent reading something that you should only really be reading if you’ve paid for it.

I’m going for a 9 from Eurogamer. They won’t go to 10, no chance in fucking hell. “No co-op” they will say. The internet will respond with “There was no co-op in Bioshock, Dead Space, yada yada yada. Predictable.

I think it will likely get a solid 9 as it doesn’t do enough different to warrant a 10. Depends who they get to review it mind as there have been 2 very favourable previews by two different people – so they will obviously give it to someone else

So you ARE finally going to buy a PS3 then.

good for you
also try uncharted and other ps3 exclusives, you won’t be disappointed with the system. Just make it your exclusive console system. PS3 has a ton of exclusives coming out this year, just don’t blame me when it becomes your primary console
