White Knight Chronicles trailered in Tokyo
After the break. The Level-5 RPG does look silly-pretty, to be fair, and appears to have a healthy dose of “awesome,” to boot. This was confirmed as having online co-op yesterday, and so is shaping up as a bit of a hottie.
Out on PS3 on December 25 in Japan, but no date for the West as yet. Take a look.

The “world” there looks incredible. The human characters, I’m not so sold on – they’re a bit too “cookie-cutter”, like they’re all the same guy in a variety of outfits. Nobody really stands out.
I hope we get to see some actual game later!

I don’t think we’ve seen any real gameplay of this yet have we? The announcement video at E3 a couple of years ago was obviously pre-rendered but made to look like gameplay, like the infamous Killzone and Motorstorm videos, but White Knight Story wasn’t quite as ambitious looking so it didn’t get the bad press the others did. In fact was it the same year? I can’t remember.

They showed some gameplay last year at TGS. Which wasn’t so good, unfortunately. With another year of dev on top it should hopefully look much better this year.

Nice backgrounds an environments, but the stuff with which they’re populated looks so ‘meh’ as to be unbelievable. I’ve never been a fan of jRPGs (FF included), but I’m baffled as to why people might be excited over this game.
