First Wario Land: Shake It! footage is awesome

Nintendo’s released the first footage of Wario Land: Shake It!, and calling it anything other than “great” would be churlish. So watch it. It’s great.

Game’s out for Wii in September. You’d best be prepared to do plenty waggling, from the look of it.

About time we had another 2D platformer. Any clues as to how the waggle gets incorporated?

Yeah, it’s got that Yoshi’s Island aiming thing, except I don’t think the arrow constantly moves (I wonder if you have to tilt to move it, or whether it’s up and down on the d-pad?)

As for waggle incorporation, it looks like you simply have to shake the remote up and down at certain context-sensitive spots – possibly when you’re in mid-air too, to slam down onto the ground.

I’m importing this in three weeks, anyway. Can’t wait.

Looks great absolutely, but lots of what I assume are waggle/gesture controls would be a hell of a lot easier on a button. Sorry but yes they would. The title of the game has me worried for stupid gesture madness.

fairplay. looks like it could be good. maybe the wii’s version of yoshi’s island which is of course one of the greatest platformers EVER.
this may well be game number 3 i’ll get for the wii
