Square Enix has confirmed that RPG Star Ocean 4’s official title is Star Ocean The Last Hope.
The company gave the details at the Microsoft’s ongoing Xbox 360 RPG Premiere 2008 event in Tokyo, confirming that the game will release on Xbox 360 in 2009..
No other platforms were detailed, but neither was exclusivity.

Surprised at this one being on 360, pretty much everyone had it pegged as a PS3 release up until now. Although judging by the lack of the word EXCLUSIVELY being banded around it sounds like it’s going to be multi-platform. Which is the best way to be, is it not?

It absolutely is. The segmentation of audience based on platform choice is probably the single biggest limiting factor in gaming today. Why wouldn’t a situation where you could buy and play any game, because you were a fan of games, on THE games platform; be the best outcome – in the mean time, I guess we’re stuck with multiplatform as the alternative.
I don’t see why you’d want to limit the amount of people that can play your games, especially since they’re the biggest sources of profit. Everyone should work towards powering a dynamic, progressive, inclusive ecosystem, I think. If the games are good, they’ll sell, and their creators will profit. The highest possible audience would all buy the same system. guaranteeing a high profit.
