USgamer Community Question: Which Additional Game Do You Want on the SNES Classic Edition?

One more. Just one more.

The SNES Classic is here, and it's pretty great. But like all things in life, it's not perfect.

Despite the console's wonderful line-up, it's impossible to avoid saying "I wish I could play ____." So, let's pick nits: If you could add one more game to the SNES Classic, which one would it be?

I have a few options: Super Mario All-Stars would've easily completed the Mario lineup, Actraiser is likewise an underrated gem, and the lack of Super Bomberman hurts me. At the end of the day, the lack of Chrono Trigger is simply mystifying. It is, bar none, the best RPG on the Super Nintendo. But everyone's going to choose that, so: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 4: Turtles In Time.

That's right. Turtles in Time was a great Konami beat-em-up on the Super Nintendo. Using the arcade version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as a springboard, Konami crafted an excellent brawler that had the turtles fighting across some interesting eras. You got Mode 7 levels like Neon Night-Riders, Tokka and Rahzar as bosses, and even a new Technodrome level. It was one of the arcade ports that was better than what preceded it. Shame it's not on the SNES Classic.

Given the excellent selection of RPGs on the SNES Classic—Final Fantasy III, Secret of Mana, Super Mario RPG, and Earthbound—it's greedy to ask for more. What can I say, though, I'm insatiable.

Chrono Trigger would be nice, but I feel like we missed a real opportunity by not having Terranigma on there. The game was very important to Europe; it received the game around the same time North America was enjoying Chrono Trigger. But while Europe has ample opportunity to play Chrono Trigger, we of the American continent yet to achieve a legitimate way to play Terranigma.

Nintendo made a surprising but welcome choice when it put Star Fox 2 on the SNES Classic; I would've liked to see at least one more "rare" game (that's not EarthBound, ha ha ha). Terranigma would be an amazing choice, especially if it's bundled with Soul Blazer and Illusion of Gaia.

I feel like the lack of Chrono Trigger is a pretty big omission so I won't touch on that. I do however wish that some of the licensed SNES games could have made it into the collection. I would give almost anything to play Aladdin again on the SNES. It may not be the best licensed game, but there's a chance it's the best Disney licensed game on the SNES. Fun fact, did you know Shinji Mikami was the lead designer on Aladdin for the SNES?.
