Rovio has thrown its weight behind MTV’s A Thin Line campaign, which aims to raise awareness of and crack down on cyber bullying.

From March 22, those who participate in A Thin Line’s anti-bullying activities will be rewarded with instructions on how to access a secret level in Angry Birds Space called Golden Egg. The promotion will be available until the end of April.

Angry Birds characters will also appear in an anti-bullying PSA broadcast on MTV during the same period.

“When we learned that people spend 300 million minutes a day playing Angry Birds, we immediately started brainstorming ways to use the Birds’ superpowers for good – and empower our audience,” MTV Public Affairs vice president Jason Rzepka said in a statement.

“We’re thrilled to partner with the visionary folks at Rovio on a ground-breaking way to celebrate the bravery of young people who help stop digital abuse.”

Rovio is also thrilled.

“We’re happy to support MTV in such a worthy cause,” US general manager Andrew Stalbow said.
