Trine 2 for Wii U has been “stuck in the submission” process in Australia and New Zealand, according to Frozenbyte, but the developer hopes the title will be released by the end of the month.

Atlus has slashed prices by 50% on four of its titles from now until February 1 on the on the European PlayStation Network. Titles on sales are: Shin Megami Tensei: Persona, Droplitz, Rock of Ages, and Trine 2. If you’ve been wanting to try one or all of these out, now seems the perfect time. Wii U digital titles can be re-downloaded free of charge on second-hand consoles, some gamers are claiming. For example, if you buy a preowned Wii U that once had Trine 2 installed, you may be able to download it again at no extra cost.

Trine 2 has an expansion in the works courtesy of developer Frozenbyte called Goblin Menace. The campaign comes with six levels, new skills playable in the original game, and general improvements and tweaks. Trine 2: Goblin Menace will release on PC, OS X, and Linux. Microsoft has updated its Xbox Live content schedule, and the releases kick off today with – as you are already well aware of – Mass Effect 3 Extended Cut, Battlefield 3: Close Quarters, and the Dawnguard DLC for Skyrim. But there are other goodies available such as Haunt for free via Kinect Central, and some on the way – such as Spelunky – so hit the page break and have a look.

Frozenbyte has teased the upcoming first expansion for Trine 2 in video form, showing some of the lush art that’ll form the new content. A new story and new enemies are promised alongside six new stages, along with new abilities for the heroes that can carry back into the main game. Shack has the video here.

Frozenbyte’s announced a half-price reduction of Trine 2 on Steam. The offer stands until next Monday, April 2. Its also confirmed the game’s latest update, featuring a hardcore mode, is now live. Pick it up on Steam here.
