Privates, Just Dance 2 win at BAFTA’s Children’s Awards 2011

Lego Pirates of the Caribbean, Size Five’s Privates and Just Dance 2 were all awarded at the children’s BAFTAs last night, with the Lego title picking up the main award. Sex education game Privates won the Learning Secondary BAFTA. Developer Dan Marhshall said: “I can’t thank BAFTA enough for honouring a tiny studio who made a weird little game. It was a great night, and I’m brimming with pride. To stagger home with one of those oh-so-familiar shiny metal face awards is so surreal, and completely magical.”

Warner Q2 financials – Games revenue up thanks to Mortal Komabt, LEGO Pirates

Warner has issued its financial report for Q2 of its fiscal year and the firm’s Filmed Entertainment division, which its videogame segment falls under, saw a 13 percent increase in revenue to $2.8 billion year-on-year. The firm attributed this growth to the releases of Mortal Kombat and LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean. The Time Warner group reported an overall 10 percent revenue increase to $7 billion, compared to $6.4 billion for the same period in its last fiscal year. Thanks, Gamasutra.

LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean dated for May 10

Disney has announced a May 10 release date for LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean. The game has been scheduled to release alongside or close to the debut of the film Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides which releases on May 20. Nothing like springing a date on us faster than Barbosa can stab you in the back there, Disney. The game will be released on just about every platform available. A demo is out now on XBL.

Lego Pirates of the Caribbean video and screens show a dead man’s chest

It’s a chest with Davy Jones’ heart in it, not the actual chest of a dead man which contains internal organs and such. Well, maybe kind of. Anyway, there’s a video and some screenshots below for Lego Pirates of the Caribbean, which focuses on the third installment of the movie series: Dead Man’s Chest. The game, which covers all four movies in the series, is slated for release alongside On Stranger Tides in May for DS, PC, PSP, PS3, Wii and Xbox 360.
