TT's Lego: Pirates of the Caribbean announced by Disney

Disney's just announced Lego: Pirates of the Caribbean from Traveller's Tales, releasing in spring 2011 for PS3, 360, Wii, PSP, Games for Windows and DS.

The title will tie-in with the releaase of the next movie in the series, On Stranger Tides, which releases in May 2011.

LPOTC will "will re-create the action, adventure and memorable moments of the Pirates of the Caribbean mythology in LEGO form," with 70 playable characters and 20 levels.

Two-player co-op mode will also be included.

"Pirates of the Caribbean is a globally successful franchise based in action, adventure and humor perfectly suited for a LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game adaptation," said GM and EVP of DIS, Graham Hopper.

"With so many wonderful characters, in such amazing environments, our teams are having great fun – and we’re sure that players will, too," added Traveller's Tales MD, Tom Stone.

No assets were provided by Disney with the announcement.

TT is currently finishing up Lego: Staw Wars III: The Clone Wars for release in February.
