Quick Quotes – Human Revolution director on meeting Deus Ex expectations

20110711deusexhr

“Some of the more hardcore fans early on have been scared, ‘oh my god, will it be a real Deus Ex game or not? What is it going to be?’” Jean-François Dugas told Gamespot.

“When we started to show the game and people started to play it they were really enthusiastic, they were really feeling that it was the next worthy sequel into the Deus Ex universe.

“When we were building it we were confident that we were making a Deus Ex game, that it would be a good one. But until you show it to outside people you’re never sure to [what] extent [you've succeeded].”

Deus Ex: Human Revolution is due on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in late August.

“Console-isation isn’t about dumbing down features,” says Deus Ex 3 dev

deuxex3.jpg

In an interview with Edge magazine (out tomorrow), Deus Ex 3 lead game designer, Jean-Francois Dugas, said that the “console-isation [of games] isn’t about dumbing down features.”

“At this point we don’t know exactly which platforms we’re going to be out on,” said Dugas. “The PC, we’ll be there for sure.

“But for us, console-isation isn’t about dumbing down features. If we’re to go console we will want to keep the complexity alive. We want the menu interface and controller to feel simple without risking any of their potential.”
