BioWare lead designer Mike Laidlaw has said that the developer would love to revisit the Jade Empire franchise someday.

Speaking with Strategy Informer, Laidlaw mentioned that the game was a favorite among those at BioWare.

“We will certainly announce it if it’s going to be coming out,” he said. “At this point, Jade Empire is a staff favorite and a lot of us love it, so we’d love to revisit it at some point.

“But right now, we are very focused on Dragon Age and Mass Effect 2.”

We wouldn’t mind another Jade Empire, we reckon. This time around, maybe you could have a tent party with Dawn Star, Silk Fox and Sky at the same time on the eve of battle.

For those of you hankering for some last-gen console RPG action, today’s a great day. BioWare’s Jade Empire is now up on XLBA, so get involved, assuming you have nothing better to do. Like play some games that aren’t really old, or something.

According to Kotaku, Microsoft’s next Xbox Original title will be BioWare’s Jade Empire.

The RPG will be available from July 21 and costs the usual 1200 MS Points.

Which is a shame, because we fancied a go on Jade Empire. Chap over here got his sums a bit wrong about assets for the games appearing on Microsoft’s FTP. Apparently, they were for a trivia title, and don’t mean you’re going to get the Xbox games any time soon.

According to this, screens for Conker: Live and Relaoded and Bioware’s Jade Empire, both Xbox titles playable on Xbox 360, have appeared on the Microsoft FTP press server in the US, indicating they’re likely condidates for download via Live Marketplace.

As with other Xbox titles, these are likely to cost 1200 Microsoft points, assuming they do make it to the service. Watch for an announcement soon.
