DICE has released a new video about its new shiny next-gen engine, Frostbite 3. The video explains the various new features that the engine carries and how it’s all been used to make its upcoming game Battlefield 4 better and bigger than ever before. It features plenty of gameplay footage from the game while developers explain how awesome the new engine is in the background. A pretty cool video to watch, you can view it after the break.

During its call to investors last night, EA mentioned more than once it was working on 11 “major titles” slated for release during its fiscal year 2014 which use its Frostbite 3 engine, including Battlefield 4. However, the firm isn’t planning on shipping any Star Wars title in FY14 and none of the releases using the new engine will be for Wii U.

Frostbite 3 hasn’t been tested on Wii U due to unsatisfactory tests of the Frostbite 2 engine.

Battlefield 4 is being developed on alpha hardware and target specs, according to DICE executive producer Patrick Bach. He claims that no one knows what the final PS4 and Xbox 720 specs are.

Dragon Age 3 : Inquisition & Mass Effect 4 will be powered by DICE’s Frostbite 3 engine, BioWare has confirmed.
