Loads of MMOs are planning Halloween and fall festivities for users, but some have already launched tricky goodness.
You can find out more about those past the break, but while you are headed that way you will also learn other sorts of stuff like: Legends of Norrath’s eighth expansion has launched, CrimeCraft is headed to iPhone and Facebook, and having gone free-to-play D&D Online is doing great, apparently.

Massively is giving away Beta keys to Star Trek Online, Aion dropped GameGuard and launched its first server, Pirates are everywhere, and Sony is giving you double station cash this weekend.

Rumor: SOE files trademark for new EverQuest titles

Rumor has it that Sony Online Entertainment has filed a US trademark for the titles EverQuest: Underfoot and EverQuest II: Sentinel’s Fate.
Curse found the information and granted, EQ fans are always up for a new expansion, but don’t take it as a sure thing until something is announced.
Not that the US Trademark site would lie or anything, just sayin’.
The SOE Fan Faire is next week so maybe we will know more then.

Not much this week for MMOs, sorry to say. Most are just giving players an “extra experience weekend” to lull them into playing on the PC instead of being outside grilling burgers and getting bent on beer.

San Diego declares March 16 Sony Online Entertainment Day

Tuesday, March 10 will henceforth be known as Sony Online Entertainment Day — at least in San Diego, CA.
On that day, SOE’s John Smedley will be presented with an official proclamation from the city council to commemorate the 10th anniversary of EverQuest.
The dedication is to thank SOE for it’s community support.

SOE MMOs hit Steam
Sony Online Entertainment’s MMOs – including EverQuest, EverQuest II, Vanguard: Saga of Heroes and Pirates of the Burning Sea – are now available on Steam.
To make the deal even sweeter, Valve’s offering special offers on some of the games while they’re new on the service.

Micro-transactions introduced to EverQuest
SOE’s introducing micro-payments to both EverQuest and EverQuest II, Eurogamer reports.
The firm’s launched StationCash, a virtual currency for use in the MMOs. One hundred SC costs $1, €1 or £0.80.
It can be used at an in-game marketplace to buy armour, potions.
