Former Gaikai chief product officer Brendan Iribe has joined the company behind virtual reality headset Oculus Rift, Develop reports. Oculus Rift has attracted over $1.6 million in funding with over two weeks remaining on its Kickstarter, which requested just $250,000. The headset tech was demonstrated at E3 2012 by John Carmack, and has been praised by senior Valve staff and Minecraft creator Markus “Notch” Persson, too.
