EA to support current-gen consoles through 2017
During the Stifel 2013 Technology Conference on Tuesday, EA CFO Blake Jorgensen said the firm plans to support current generation consoles until 2017. Gamespot reports the quote from the conference, which we’ve reported on quite a bit. During it Jorgensen talked about the possibility of a Star Wars: Battlefront game, developments on Wii U and how more games and information on all its titles will be revealed at E3. NBA Live 14 announced for next-gen consoles
NBA Live 14 has been announced for next-generation consoles by Electronic Arts CFO Blake Jorgensen. The news was revealed as part of his talk during the Stifel Nicolaus 2013 Internet, Media and Communications Conference today. The game is set for release later this year, and may be part of the new Xbox console reveal today, if NBA Live tweets are any indication. NBA Live 13 was set to be the latest game in the series, slated for last fall, but was ultimately cancelled by EA with the promise the franchise would return in 2013. Thanks, Polygon.

EA appoints Blake Jorgensen as chief financial officer
EA today announced the appointment of Blake Jorgensen as its EVP and CFO. Jorgensen will report directly to CEO John Riccitiello and will have responsibility for the company’s global financial operations. Jorgensen takes over for former CFO Eric Brown, who resigned in February. Jorgensen was most recently EVP and CFO of Levi Strauss & Co.; prior to that, he was CFO at Yahoo until early 2009. He will start at EA in early September 2012, and interim CFO Ken Barker, who filled the position temporarily over the last five months, will become chief accounting officer.
