Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation developed by Abstergo
Although technically Ubisoft Sofia is doing the work, Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation writer Richard Farrese told Kotaku that canonically, modern-day Templar front Abstergo is behind the Vita title. Narratively, the game is explained as a commercial spin-off to the Animus, Abstergo’s history-exploring technology which powers the franchise’s central conceit. That’s adorable. Does anybody need anything cooled off because I’m doing a pretty massive fangirl right now. Liberation releases alongside Assassin’s Creed III in late October.

Ubisoft has released a set of screenshots and the box art for Assassins Creed III: Liberation. It stars a female protagonist Aveline, who leaps around 18th century New Orleans looking for Templars and other enemies in a city full of rebellion against the Spanish Empire’s rule. Liberation launches October 30, alongside the console version.
