Verdun, the very realistic WW1 shooter from indie team Blackmill, is getting a new expansion later this year. Called Tannenberg, this standalone expansion will take the fight to the Eastern Front between 1914-1918.

The Russian Army, German Empire, and the Austro Hungarian Empire will be featured heavily here, as the battle moves to the East. The more open maps of Tannenberg will introduce a faster pace to the gameplay, which is a bit different from the trench attack/defend nature of Verdun.

In the video above, Westie takes a look at the first available screens and recaps the early details already confirmed. Although it will be under the same banner, Tannenberg will be separate from Verdun, with its own maps and modes.

Tannenberg is expected later this year on PC.
