LEGO: The Hobbit will add third film as DLC – report

Thursday, 3rd April 2014 09:40 GMT By Dave Cook

LEGO: The Hobbit only includes content from the first two films: An Unexpected Journey and The Desolation of Smaug. However, a new report suggests that the third film There and Back Again, will be added as DLC around the movie’s Christmas launch.

The report follows this Lego: The Hobbit trailer, which shows off the game’s co-op. It’s nice to work as a team, you see?

It comes from BrickFanataics, which claims that the DLC was outed during this year’s London Toy Fair, and while publisher Warner Bros. isn’t responding to the matter, a comment sent to GameInformer teases, “Definitely stay tuned for more exciting news in the near future.”

LEGO: The Hobbit is out April 11 on multiple formats.

If it’s free then I’m in. But if it was free you suspect they’d be advertising it on the box now.

Even though I understand how this situation has arisen (with the third film put back until November) I’m not buying the game for two films, that’s just taking the piss.

I’m not so sure about this one, I’ve been flip-flopping. On the one hand, it’s not a franchise that I like. On the other, it’s a LEGO game. On the one hand, I preferred LEGO Batman 2 to LEGO Marvel Super Heroes so I don’t know if TT Games learned their lesson after that, on the other hand I can play as Baby Smaug riding a Warg.

I don’t know, really. I’m very undecided, myself.

I will say that the new building system they have in it looks a bit interesting, though.
