shouldn’t have been called castlevania, doesn’t play as one. wannabe god of war, even DmC was better.

And what does play as one? The other 3D Castlevania games never played like the 2D ones. Wannabe God of War? LOL. It had more in common with the other 3D Castlevania’s, the classic linear Castlevania’s and Legacy of Kain: Defiance than it did with God of War.

    DmC was garbage.

It’s really extreme how much of a God of War Rip-off it seems to be. I mean they literally have the same mechanics taken right out of it. Want a bigger health bar? Collect things in the environment from a dead fellow. I’d totally buy it if it wasn’t for the shallow and boring art-direction. The main character looks like someone you’d see standing around in a crowd in other videogames.

The environments aren’t really anything special. The first open environment in the game looks so much alike, I got lost pretty quickly. Usually in those games you know which path will lead you to the main path and which one will simply lead you to a dead end with a powerup waiting for you.

It’s sad really. The gothic art-direction of the previous title really made it stand out and made sense in the context. It just seems dumb to throw that away.

Anyway, I expect the second one will be more original. It’s usually then developers embrace the strengths of the IP.

It’s definitely far behind great games like DmC.
