Ghost Song, a 2D “metroidvania” style game taking influences from Super Metroid and Darks Souls, has already met its $15,000 Kickstarter goal with 25 days left on the clock, but in ordert to bring it to Wii U and expand the story and gameplay, it needs more money.

So far, the project has reached $21,286 and should the final $60,000 stretch goal be met, the game will be developed for Wii U.

As it stands, the game is slated for release on PC, Mac and Linux.

Check the game out through the link and have a look at the pitch video below.

Thanks, Nintendo Life.

Is it just me or do those characters look VERY tall?
I’m not sure whether it’s because of how thin they are or because of how narrow the hallways are but something doesn’t add up there.

Inspired by Super Metroid? More like copy and paste of Super Metroid with a few palate swaps. Though, truth be told, if Nintendo won’t make a real Metroid game, I’m glad someone will! Time to go Kickstart another game…

They do look a touch on the tall side, but it could be an artistic choice akin to Phantom 2040/Aeon Flux.

That music, though… that music isn’t very pleasant to my ears, even taking into consideration the context and mood they’re trying to set. It’s not often that an indie game has average music, but this does seem a little sub par. Pretty graphically, though.
