Tekken Revolution to get all-new character

Tekken Revolution will introduce a character not yet seen in any other entry in the series.

The new character chosen from among three options by a crowd at San Diego Comic Con.

Currently called Female Vampire, the new character exists as a series of concept sketches, but series creator Katsuhiro Harada told Polygon that Namco Bandai has enough concept material on hand to have the new character in game as early as northern autumn.

Fans chose the vampire over Tekken: Blood Vengeance's Shin Kamiya and a barely-clothed character called Sexy Female Tekken Force.

The three choices were narrowed down from ten by a Facebook poll. Harada commented that he was quite relieved those who voted didn't choose one of the more joking characters, like the giant praying mantis, salmon or "run-of-the-mill old man".

The free-to-play PS3 exclusive will receive a major update this month, adding two new characters, balancing, new premium items and more.
