Monster Hunter Online trailer contains absolutely no gameplay

Monday, 6th May 2013 00:21 GMT By Brenna Hillier

I’m not going to fib to you: this new trailer for Monster Hunter Online is 100% cinematic. It’s pretty lovely, despite being entirely uninformative.

In the trailer’s defence it does a pretty good job of showing off the feel of Monster Hunter games, which TenCent is hoping to bring to the CryEngine-powered MMO – overwhelming monstrous force.

Unfortunately, the game has only been announced for China so far – but given the franchise’s emphasis on online play, you can still enjoy taking down enemies with your buddies in recent releases like the Wii U’s Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate.

Thanks, I-Pod.

That’s ok because even (most) games that show “gameplay” in their trailers it’s actually just as cinematic and therefore just as uniformative as this one.

It’s probably not going to an mmo though.. Unless you count 4 player party’s as massive =P

@kyrvg: It may be massive in the sense that you can interact with hundreds of people in the hub town, pretty much like Phantasy Star Online.
Also, there’s already a 25-man monster confirmed for the game.

@Meloku171: Yhea the whole hub town would probably be a thing. Also, i was unaware of that 25-man hunt. Now I am very excited.
