LEGO Lord of the Rings features crafting, open-world, twilight world of the Ringwraiths
LEGO Lord of the Rings details have been sent over by Warner, and unsurprisingly, the game will be an open-world affair. How it could it not be – it takes place in Middle-earth after all.

The game will feature battles with many of the evil denizens of Tolkien’s tome, such as: orcs, Uruk-hai, the infamous Balrog, the Witch-king, and “other fearsome creatures.” But not on DS, according to the fact sheet.
Players will be able to don The One Ring and enter the twilight world of the Ringwraiths; collect, combine and forge new items in the Blacksmith Shop using Mithril; collect famous weapons and magical items such as the Light of Earendil, Elven rope, swords, and bows; and as previously reported, players can unlock over 80 playable characters.
Familiar fellowship characters from the movies and books include: Aragorn, Gandalf, Legolas, Gimli, Boromir, Frodo, Sam, Merry and Pippin.
Players will also “relive the legend” through LEGO minifigure characters delivering the dialogue from the films – which will include voice-overs from some of the actors.
LEGO Lord of the Rings will feature drop-in, drop-out co-op on consoles when it releases in October.
The game will be available on 3DS, DS, PC, PS3, Wii and Xbox 360 and Vita.

Can’t wait for the comedy cop GTA style Lego game on Wii U, that looked awesome at e3.
I hope it’s a launch title, this should also be fun!

With all these improvements over the years with these games, makes me want them to redo Star Wars complete saga, make it 10xs as big then with voiceovers.
I think they should do Avengers Phase one so have all the individual movies up to and including the Avengers.

Yes, avengers would be great!
I would like Big Trouble in Little China, that would be hilarious but it’s never gonna happen!

I love how the LEGO games have evolved, increasing in scope and freedom when so many ‘improve’ tedious linear scripted games by making them shinier, but even more restrictive.
I can see a Minecraft competitor emerging from them at some point. My cash is ready and waiting.
