Wow, there’s actually a bit of disagreement there. Not a lot, but at least a bit.
I’ve seen some of the American commercials for Future Soldier. They really make it look more CoD than CoD.
What kind of DRM are they gonna be packing?

What IGN said is exactly what i hoped :
Play Future Soldier as you would Call of Duty or Battlefield and you won’t last long. It’s a punishing game in some respects, and you cannot stand out in the open and expect to survive for more than a few seconds. It forces you to think strategically, to plan ahead and use cover at all times

You’re welcome Steph
@2 As far as I know only the basic one(what ever that might be)..but you can never trust Ubisoft can you,btw the PC version comes with all the DX 11 goodies so those who can run it will enjoy the scenery even more, but not before June 12 th(PC release date).

God, this game is such a disaster. Just what the hell were they doing? The game reminds me of horrible PS2 ports of PS3 games, un-fucking-believable.
There is little to no story in this game. I’ve been spending some hours on the game and i don’t even know who 30k is and how he looks. The developer probably though it isn’t necessary to give you hints on who talks, not even the subtitles inform you about that. Doesn’t help that Kosak, that dude and 30k sound alike.
The graphics don’t look too good and the engine’s working horrible, just really, really bad, with lots of texture and object pop-ups, the only good thing here are the animations. Smooth and beautiful to look at.
The gameplay works fine, most of the time, but there are some real issues here. I mean they have already shown that stealth gameplay can be fun and fast with Splinter Cell Conviction. This? This is not. There are only two phases of gameplay. Stealth and Action. Fuck up and you can only go back to Stealth when everyone is dead. Fuck up and you will be punished by more enemies spawning at random locations.
As soon as the enemy discovers you, they know where you are, stealth-systems or not, they know.
You can fuck up pretty fast in this game, so reloading a checkpoint is something you’ll have to do a lot. Which is shite because the game takes its time with reloading a checkpoint. Checkpoint are also sparse which adds another layer of frustration.
The menu navigation, is – for some reason – also pretty, pretty slow. With a start menu that takes more than a 2 seconds to load up, sometimes not even coming up.
Just everything about this game screams “UNFINISHED”. You get that the moment you see the “PRESS START” screen. As soon as you press it, you will be redirected to a … “PRESS START” Screen. Again? What the hell? What’s the point of the first Screen?
The worst thing though, is that we never saw the russian beach level from the 2010 demo. I know the game looks completely different (worse) now, but why didn’t they feel the need to put it in? I mean it’s not like the missions have some kind of connections. Half the time you don’t even know why you’re supposed to do what you’re supposed to do.
Silently take over a ship? Fine, okay. Don’t alert anyone. Okay, managed to do that after 8 tries. The missions ends with you on a chopper shooting down enemies around the ship. So what was the point of us sneaking in in the first place?
Another thing that pisses me off is the fact that you have to unlock most weapons, which isn’t bad in itself, but when you consider that unlocking those weapons means that you have to play the game different than the way you want to.
For example, you can only unlock an AK by playing a certain mission, in this mission you’re supposed to kill 8 enemies in under 30 seconds with an assault rifle. So to unlock this weapon you have to play the game completely different. That’s just stupid, why not simply use the XP-System you had in Rainbow Six Vegas 2?
Played the PS3 version, singeplayer. Played GRAW1/2 singelplayer and could enjoy the game without any problems, this however? Disastrous.

Game is challenging.
Therefore it must suck.

Well, challenging + poorly placed checkpoints = preventable megafail in my opinion.
I’m not going to spend a lot of time on a game that expects me to throw away 5 minutes of progress and enjoy it.
It looks pretty good though. The Ghost Recon series is arguably the least sucky of the rotting corpses that got left behind after Red Storm got butchered by Ubisoft.

T@11- What game are you playing ? I’ve played through about 2 full campaign missions and given the mp a whirl and I’ve enjoyed doing so. In fact, if I wasn’t completely absorbed with dragon’s dogma I’d be playing a lot more. I appreciate the more strategic approach to sp vs. the likes of cod and battlefield. It sounds like you’re not very good at the game, and your venting your rage here. Why don’t you take that energy and do something constructive?

These review scores seem awfully high for such a mediocre game.

^ A lot of 7′s. 7 is generally the lowest most sites will go with without the game being totally broken anyway.

@16 “A lot of 7′s. 7 is generally the lowest most sites will go with for fear of being completely blacklisted from publisher’s review list.”
Fixxed.

@14: Strategic approach? What strategic approach? Which targets should i shoot first? Have you played some of the previous Ghost Recon titles?
@12: See comment #13. I remember a time when your comments were more constructive and you didn’t look for a way to misinterpret comments.
