Deep Silver has revealed Chani, a fourth character for Risen 2: Dark Waters who is the daughter of the Shaganumbi tribe’s chief. Growing up in the village of Earthclan, she despises the expansion plans of the Inquisition as much as the pirates which have invaded her home, thus, she’s using her voodoo powers to protect her people from the invaders. During his travels in the game, our nameless hero will meet Chani who will find herself torn between “seeing the nameless hero as a threat to her and her people” or finding that he is her only hope to stop the evil from spreading. Risen 2: Dark Waters will release for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 in the US on April 24 and the UK on April 27.

I read a recent preview on IGN, about the PC and console version. The PC version was pretty alright, but the console version has me worried. They said it was very rough and simply didn’t look too good either. It would be a huge shame, cause they said they were very aware of the horrible 360 port of the first Risen…and wouldn’t make that same mistake again.

Deep Silver needs to get the console versions of this title 100% right, or they could be in serious trouble.

Yeah exactly, the same folks making the console version this time, are the same guys as who made Risen Xbox 360 version. I was very skeptical of it before, but after some previews saying that Piranha Bytes was really keeping a eye on the development process, i wasn’t so much anymore. But now after that IGN article…i’m not sure yet.
