Kid Icarus: Uprising trailer reminds you it exists

Kid Icarus: Uprising was one of the first games Nintendo revealed for its spanking new handheld. Where the heck is it? Gaze upon its soon-to-be-released form through the break.

Based on a notoriously difficult NES title and more fondly remembered but still challenging Game Boy release, Uprising is an on-rails shooter due exclusively on 3DS on March 23.

Thanks, GameInformer.

Nintendo(Japan in general) prolly has no idea how many more Wiis(copies of their games in general) they would sell if they stoped putting so many of their titles on handhelds. I kmow handhelds are sales too, but come on a full fledged Icarus game on console? That would sell like mad. Would move systems too. Would make a solid WiiU launch game.

Every time Sony or Nintendo(SQENX, Capcom, etc) sink time and money into a handheld they lose ground in the West(esp in NA). At this point they should, imo, give up with new hardware, take their loses – smart phones killed their market share with smaller and cheaper games on platforms people feel they need for other nongame reasons anyway.

Only hardcore dedicated gamers and young kids are going to own a dedicated handheld. In the west. And even so alot of them are increasingly going to own just phones.

    Why the rant?

Because I’d like to play Icarus. I won’t unless its on a console, neither will a lot of other gamers.
