Atlus' yearly earnings supported by Catherine sales and Persona series 

Index, the firm which owns Atlus, has reported sales of ¥22,934 million for the period of September 1, 2010 through August 31, 2011.

While sales were down 34 percent yoy, the firm posted a lower net loss ¥4,498 million yen, compared to the ¥7,376 million net loss the prior year, which saw the company significantly in the red.

It's games business, which includes Atlus, the mobile firm Index, and online firm Rosso Index, saw sales of ¥18,452 million and operating profits of ¥2,695 million.

Index attributed the surge in sales to the release of Catherine, which sold 500,000 units in Japan and other regions, as well as a performance for the Persona series.

Catherine moved 260,000 units combined on Xbox 360 and PS3 in Japan, while internationally, it moved 230,000 units.

In Japan, Persona 2 on PSP moved 112,000 units, and Devil Survivor 2 on DS moved 106,000 units.
