The Mercenaries 3D save files cannot be erased
Here’s one for the “excuse me, WTF” files: you can not delete your Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D save files. Ever.

A Neogaf user posted a snap of the game’s manual confirming the, uh, “feature”.
Bad news for perfectionists – and for those who like to trade in used games, since anybody who purchases a used copy won’t be able to start a fresh save.
According to Esuteru (as translated by Tiny Cartridge) Japanese retailers are giving only a very small amount of credit on trade-ins, the equivalent of about $6.
Is this Capcom’s latest ammunition in the anti-trading war? Or some sort of bizarre technical failing? We’ll poke Capcom.
Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D releases in the US on June 28, Australia on June 30, and Europe on July 1. Japan has had it since early June.
Thanks, Joystiq.

lol, that’s disappointing, especially for a portable game.

If this isn’t a good reason for hackers to get started on the R4-3DS version, that I don’t know what is….
