Thursday, 23rd June 2011 19:25 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

Capcom is to release DLC for Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition, and it’s a costume pack called “Arcade Challengers Pack.”

According to Andriasang, it is set for a July 5 release, and includes two costumes each for arcade edition fighters Yun, Yang, Evil Ryu and Oni.

One of the costumes is the character’s “arranged costume from the arcade version.”

Pricing for the costume pack is ¥400 on PS3 and 320 MSP on Xbox 360.

This is really a straight up insult. I couldn’t agree with comment #1 anymore.

DLC was the worst “advancement” of this gen. But really we are either going to have 90usd games at retail or 60usd games w/30usd avalible dlc. Lest we have a choice on buying it.

How many freaking Street Fighter IV games are there now!? Geez. I’ve never seen a single game that’s been re-released as many times as this one has.

@5 The original Street Fighter 2 got re-released 6 times back in the 90s. Alpha got 3 revisions (everyone forgets Alpha 2 Gold), 3 got 2 revisions. It’s nothing new, though what bothers me about it is that we do not live in an age where releasing a disc based upgrade is necessary because we have technology we didn’t use to have 20 years ago. Due to Capcom seeing that people are willing to rebuy the game again and that most of their success relies upon sequels/re-releases, this is what we get in return. A shame though it paints Capcom fans no better than Activision fans willing to buy the next CoD and Capcom as a ugly company in comparison to others. To be honest I’d rather they just change their format to just release each costume individually considering some people may only want to get 1 character’s costume out of a whole group’s. You know what they used to call DLC on PC? Patches.
@4 Did you know that before this generation if a game sold enough, it would just get re-released with additional content?
