Tales of the Abyss Japanese trailer shows off in-game footage

Check out this gameplay footage-packed trailer for Namco’s Tales of the Abyss 3D, which was confirmed for US release recently.

It’s a Japanese one, at this stage, but you certainly get a feel for how Namco has polished up the PS2 classic for Nintendo’s fledgling handheld.

No idea on dating for this one; the Japanese are expecting it at the end of June. Keep an eye out for a date soon, although don’t hold your breath if you live outside the US.

Thanks, Joystiq.

Wow. This is looking absolutely spectacular; on par with the PS2 graphics as far as I can tell.

Is Nintendo letting Namco use cartridges larger than 2GB? Because I’m sure the original must’ve filled up the majority of a single layer DVD. (And the 3DS supports cartridges as large as 8GB currently).

Well, Nintendo wasn’t lying when they said there was going to be a lot of remakes. Only two games so far that I want, Ocarina of Time 3DS, and now this.
