Rumour: FIFA 12 to release on NGP along with usual suspects
An EA employee’s LinkedIn profile suggests the publisher will support Sony’s NGP. In other news, the sky is blue.

JustPushStart turned up the profile of software engineer Juan José Galera Pérez.
Pérez is said to have included FIFA 12 on his current projects, and detailed its platforms as 3DS, DS, PC, PlayStation 3, PS2, PSP, Wii, Xbox 360 – and “PSP2″.
Other credits include a role on Grasshopper Manufacture’s Shadows of the Damned and the recently outed Burnout Crash.
EA has made no formal declaration of its intent to develop for the console, and made no appearance at Sony’s debut of the handheld.
CVG reports the soccer sim will see a full reveal in next month’s issue of OXM UK.
Thanks, CVG.

The graphical and interactive possibilities (the two-pronged touchscreen, just to give an example) will be amazing. This is the first time I’ve ever been excited for a handheld version of a sports game, lol.

I have no idea why, but I’m chomping at the bit for the NGP.
I think it’s mostly due to the possibility of a strong launch line-up. The 3DS is great, but I can’t justify buying one given it’s lacklustre output so far. But the NGP? If it it launches with games like Uncharted, Little Deviants etc, than I’ll more than likely buy one.

I get a vague feeling that the territory it might see an initial release could be Europe (if not for the obvious Japan).
We already know that codies are doing F1 2011 for the NGP based on the PS blog post from last week and they intend to release it this year. That and Fifa 12 which pretty much seem more in tune for an EU market possibly means there’s plenty of the usual suspects already in the pipeline for release. I guess the NGP won’t have a lack of games when it comes out and might have a similar situation to new iOS iterations.
