Shogun 2 demo to release on February 22

Sega’s confirmed that Total War: Shogun 2 will get a Steam demo on February 22, along with some pre-order bonuses as well.

The demo will have players trying out the campaign map.

Those who pre-order the game through either Best Buy or GameStop, will net some exclusive in-game content per the following:

Players who pre-order at GameStop (online or in-store) will unlock and take part in The Historic Battle of Kawagoe. Set in 1545, the Battle of Kawagoe saw the Hõjõ clan launch a successful night time counter-attack against the besieging Uesugi, eschewing heavy armor and the collection of heads in favor of speed and stealth.

Those who pre-order at Best Buy (online or in-store only) will unlock 1,000 Koku, the currency used in Total War: Shogun 2. Player’s campaigns will begin with 1,000 Koku, allowing them to purchase new buildings, train new units and upgrade their towns.

Total War: Shogun 2 will be available for PC on March 15.

I pity the fool who buys a Creative Assembly game within one year of release.

If this comes out even halfway finished I’ll be awestruck

@1 I think its to do with the USA release. When Napoleon TW was released, it hit the USA on a Tuesday and didnt release in the UK until the friday. Of course, those who pre-ordered boxed copies, couldnt install the game due to the time lock.

Thankfully, after an entire day of people venting their frustration, Steam/Sega unlocked the game early so fans could start playing straight away.
