Football Manager 2011 takes UK number 1, first weekend sales better then Pro Evo ’11

Chart-Track just confirmed that Football Manager 2011 has entered the UK chart in the top spot, while Activision’s latest Bond efforts have barely registered.
Sports Interactive boss Miles Jacobson tweeted the first week sales for the sim “beat” those of Pro Evolution Soccer 2011, despite its release on multiple platforms.
FM2011 only released on PC.
“Err – have just been told that our first weekend sales on one format beat Pro Evo’s first weekend on multiple formats. Gulp.”
The Goldeneye 007 reboot debuted at 13, and Bizarre’s 007: Blood Stone only managed to place at 18.
New Super Mario Bros. Wii rose back up to sixth place thanks to the release of 25th Anniversary Red Nintendo Wii bundle.
Next week’s chart winner is pretty much a given: Black Ops releases in the UK tonight.
Here’s the lot for the week ending November 6, courtesy of GamesPress:

Very poor show for Blood Stone. Outsold by Goldeneye too!

Really shocking. They won’t be happy with that.

Really should have avoided the COD juggernaut

I doubt Activision is too surprised. They’ll be hoping that action game cash will just be being saved for tonight’s Black Ops launch instead.

God of War: Ghost of Sparta completely fails to chart, I see. It didn’t even get number 1 in the PSP-only chart.

Based on the chart-track news Fable 3 dropped by 64%. Since we know that those numbers were 128k that means this basically dropped to about 48k. Some of the others:
Fifa overall dropped by 21% from 79.7k to about 59.8k and is at 2nd pos this week.
Just Dance 2 from 58.3k to 45.5k
Prof layton dropped in sales but went up in pos. It’s currently 29555 (45470 last week).
Can’t say about NSMB Wii since it went up 99% but is lower than the above numbers (but should be approx 29k I guess).
New Vegas is at 28.5k this week.
Medal of Honor is 27.2k this week.
SW:TFU is 26.9k
The Sims 3 is 22.3k.
Unsurprisingly Rockband 3 is out of the combined 40 charts (there’s no need to mention the indivs even).
It’s a pretty low week really makes sense since it’s the week before CoD. Also there’s a bunch of sales at play.com today PES 2011 and Castlevania:LOS are both 17.99 but I believe it’s only for today.

@5 As for God of War, there’s no real reason for anyone with a PSP and memory card and the internet to buy on retail this week.
I’m sure those who planned to get it, got it digital. For £16.99 and all it’s week 1 content, practically everyone I know with a PSP got it digitial.

Chains of olympus went onto sell 2.5m worldwide and that never charted either so dont worry about GOS.

I haven’t bought an FM since the first 3D one which I didn’t like much. This one seems much improved.
