Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters movie tie-in announced
Warner and DC Entertainment today announced Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters, an action-adventure title to be released alongside the Green Lantern film.
Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters is inspired by the film, starring Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan.
In the game, players will “take flight using many constructs” and use the Green Lantern power ring to battle bad guys.
“Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters gives players the chance to experience the world of the Green Lantern mythology in an interactive way, going beyond the events of the film and comic books,” said Samantha Ryan, Warner’s SVP of production and development.
“The game is the first to center around DC Comics’ Green Lantern franchise and we’re excited to give fans the opportunity to experience the power of the ring with engaging gameplay.”
Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters is in development by Double Helix Games for PS3, Wii and Xbox 360, with Griptonite Games heading up the DS version.
Both the game and movie are scheduled for release in Summer 2011.

i paid money to watch the movie storyline, and now they want me to pay DOUBLE the farking money to play the game having the same storyline I already watched from the movie.

Ryan Reynolds has been wanting to get into a serious Super Hero flick. I think he was hoping that would be the case in Wolverine but since that was a failure, he went to be Green Lantern. I am waiting to see how this turns out.
